Let me start this blog post with two numbers:
This means that the “AppMe.eve-c.org/Scout”-AppStore has more “apps” than Samsung’s Bada platform (*). I know… these are no real apps and that you have to install them is only because Symbian doesn’t offer any other useful solution. But it is a nice comparison and good for my uber-ego 
I’m quite surprised about the success of AppMe.

I just want to show you a quick funny project I made today: Nest Drop
I plan to incorporate it into Nest, but release it as stand alone project for now.
NestDrop.eve-c.org tries to make it easier for you to get content from your browser on to your mobile phone.
Therefor it uses a bookmarklet on the browser side and a mobile web page on the phone side. An web launcher for Symbian exists for the convenience aswell.

Today I proudly announce the newest version of My Location As A Link. With this little sweet app you can create a link to your position and share it. In comparison to the old version (0.9) a lot of things have changed. So many that it would be easier to write a stay-log than a change-log. But who needs a stay-log, right? (Just grab it!)

Today I proudly announce the new version of AppMe.eve-c.org! AppMe is by far my most successful service. A good part of this success came from the AllAboutSymbian.com article. Thank you for this again.
What does success in this case mean? Within the last three months over 2000 apps were created, with almost 3000 downloads. So what’s coming next?
AppMe fills a gap in the Symbian OS. Even the newest iteration has not the possibility to add web bookmarks like an App to the startmenu or the homescreen.
With AppMe you can easily create an App which opens the desired web page. You can also modify the icon to make your App even more tailored.
Here I demonstrate how to use this service to create a Picasa Baby Seals Widget. A video says more than a thousand words:
In dieser neuen Version ist das Design mit jQueryUI erstellt worden. Das sieht schicker aus, ist aber leider auch recht langsam. Ich hoffe in erster Linie auf ein Update der Runtime durch Nokia.

Nest – die neue Startseite – ermöglicht dir das tabbed-browsing auf deinem Symbian S60 Gerät. Das Herzstück ist die Opera nicht unähnliche Startseite, auf der Favoriten gespeichert werden. Zusätzlich hat man noch schnellen Zugang zu zahlreichen Suchmaschienen.

Mit diesem nützlichen Tool kann man sich Internetseiten anschauen, wie sie ungefähr auf einem Handy mit nHD-Auflösung (640×360) aussehen würden.
So kann man die Entwicklung entsprechender Seiten beschleunigen.
